NEWS

It's been about a year since the site was last updated, and quite a bit of material has piled up in that time. Nearly all of the catalogs and flyers in the current backlog are contributions from Pipepages readers, notably, Ralph Webb, Jeff Otto, and Jesper Klith. I'm going to try to add a minimum of one piece per day for the next several weeks. So, keep an eye on this space! Today's posting is:

12-18-2007: A 1955 Parker Catalog (the earliest Parker piece on the site), courtesy of Jesper Klith.

12-17-2007: I've updated the links page to include Derek Green's site, which highlights his collection of English pipes, with an emphasis on Dunhill and the history of Comoys. There are a number of other sites out there that I would like to add, and will note them on this page as I do so.

12-09-2007: Ok, so I couldn't do a piece a day. Still, I'm hacking away at it! I've been sitting on this brochure, kindly lent to me by Jesper Klith, since the Richmond CORPS show. A nice Danish-issue
Loewe flyer. I suspect that it pre-dates the 1960's, though I don't have hard proof. If anyone has a solid evidence to date this-- even approximately-- I would love to hear from you!

11-20-2007: A Pioneer Meerschaum catalog. New York: date unknown, courtesy of Ralph Webb.

11-18-2007: Ralph Webb provided scans of the Pipe-Dan 1961-62 catalog, which is loaded with images of shape-reformed pipes, as well as designs from such notables as Sixten Ivarsson and Gert Holbek; Copenhagen, 1961.

11-17-2007: Houston area readers may remember Jud's Pipe Shop. Pipepages reader Jeff Otto certainly does-- he apprenticed there for a time before going off to college. Houston: 1968, courtesy of Jeff Otto.
11-16-2007: Thurmann's Your Pipe Shop catalog; Copenhagen: date unknown, courtesy of Ralph Webb.
